The eBook Insider eBook

I originally picked this this up as a freebie, out of curiosity. Although I'd read a few of the books mentioned in it, I did find some to add to my Kindle.

This well-organized book starts with a list of the 2010 U.S. book prize winners (the authors might consider expanding this to include Canadian and UK winners, given the international nature of the Kindle) and continues to add books by section. Some of the sections include: 'What Our Authors Are Reading'; 'Notable New Books', with this section organized by genre; and 'Read the Book, See the Movie'. There is also a group of excerpts from 23 various titles.

This could become a very worthwhile reference, especially if the authors expand it to include more than just the winning literature from some of the more international players. Obviously, as it is editors and authors at Knopf Doubleday who produce it, there will be some bias, but let's face it -- that's a huge company!

The eBook Insider eBook Reviews

This book tells about different types of places you can acces ebooks. There are many sources of free books that are available.
This book contains list and excerpts to help you find your next book. Everything is covered from the classics to recent best sellers.
there are a lot of ebooks not jst on this helps you come p with ideas to find more sources which always helps
Nothing here will help you find a better cheaper book. Better to rely on 's record of your preferences. Very disappointing.
This book is excellent for the ebook owner, to help gain knowledge and know how with your ebook reader.
The book content is pretty short, with more than half the length comprised of excerpts from the recommended books. It is interesting to see what others have recommended. But in all the recommendations I'm not interested in most of them. Overall the book was well organized. And I liked the pictures of book covers.
I picked this up as a freebie. It's fine for a quick look through, especially because more than half of the book consists of promotional samples for recommended books.

The listing of award winners is from 2010, which makes it fairly dated. The award lists are brief, without long listings. The recommended-by-our-authors section is brief and unexceptional, although the featured authors, (Nora Ephron, Carl Hiaasen), are more interesting than usual.

I was not aware of David Eagleman's "Sum", which is a whimsical description of various interestingly conceived afterlifes, and was happy to be made aware of it, so even if you follow books there might be a treat like that in store for you in this book.

So, while you could put together this info on your own without much effort, if you like lists or collections of samples, or if you're always looking for a surprise book, this is certainly a fine diversion.
